The weather over the past week has and still is very cold. Today locally I've witnessed the first signs of very wet sleet appearing in the rain. Nothing serious, yet. Just the cold northerly breeze.

Managed to go for a morning walk and it was sunny. Light was great for photos especially after the mist lifted. Ground was still extremely wet and therefore muddy but overall a decent walk this morning.

Our named sparrow-hawk, Stan, predated another goldfinch this afternoon. Not happy with that, an hour later, he caught another bird. Not sure what his plucking perch was in the garden corner and light was proving to be limited. Photo of this afternoon:

Decided to stay in this morning, no walk even though dry, sunny but very cold. So, hopefully work on the Drimnin film & update website. Photo. Yesterday's Canada geese.

A very cold day walking this morning. Not sure if it was just the cold or the damp air even though it was very sunny. The bright weather did bring people out. The park at Hardwick was pretty busy.

A fairly fresh morning, at times cold and cloudy then warmer when sun appeared. Damp making it feel colder and the ground still very wet underfoot. Hardwick Park busy first thing, which was unusual for the time and weather.

After exceptionally wet week, today the rain has stopped so far. Although dry, the ground is soft and for walking, in places, like a mud path. Cold too, cloudy and the air damp.
