Goldfinch was caught by a suspected sparrow hawk this morning in the garden. The only remains unfortunately was feathers. Sad but that's wildlife. The garden is still very quiet.

To clear my head, yesterday I had a walk round RSPB Saltholme. Breezy and at times cloudy but it kept dry. Fairly warm too when the sun appeared. Tried to capture dragonflies but due to the wind, not many around. In the process of looking through the photos now. Below: Meadow Brown butterfly Salthomle.

Garden Bird/Wildlife Count for May 2023 is now calculated. Biggest increase was starlings while goldfinches dropped significantly.
Weather passed couple of days has changed much since this time last week. From glorious sunshine and war temperatures to grey, damp and cold skies.
