Drive

The car decided it wanted to stretch its wheels this morning so we drove to Bishop Auckland Sainsbury's. On the way back we took the long way back passing Raby Castle, Gainford and Darlington. Another cool day, cloudy and the afternoon saw rain.

Wet & Birds

Looking like a wet day. Constantly raining so far since getting up. Twelve siskin's on feeders first thing chased by 7 starlings. Resuming home flooring now for the week.

Birds & Flooring

Busy day in the garden. January has seen the busiest month on record for siskin's. Brambling's too have seen numerous numbers. Surprising how long both have remained before moving on.
At the moment I'm busy in the house, trying to install a wood floor throughout the first floor level. One room nearly complete after 6 days so not too bad.

Due to this Blog updates maybe limited.

Metro

Yes, decided to visit Metro Centre. Surprisingly both Metro & Costco fairly busy. Weather not too bad travelling there but on the return it poured down and the wind picked up.
Photo: Decided to get a contractor to improve the weather.

Storm Isha

A day after storm Isha and to my knowledge no damage of note here or in the area. Still breezy making it cold too, plus the odd light shower. Forecast for the next 48 hours includes another storm of significance. Hair cut, a walk down to Beacon Lane and sorted out BT contract.

Freezing

Another freezing day. Bitterly cold walking round Teesside Park. Temperature improves tomorrow but now gale force winds are forecast for the weekend.

Colder

Another extremely cold day with the garden birds very busy eating keeping their energy up. Snow showers forecast this afternoon ……… we'll see.

Frozen

An extremely cold day. Popped out for a quick walk this morning and I was frozen. Did not go far, just to East Park and back. The Drimnin film I feel is now complete but will leave it for a few days before uploading it.

Film

Nearly finished Drimnin film. Should be ready tomorrow to upload. To say I'm glad it is now done is an understatement. Not glad just it's taken quite some time to finish. Spooky sparrow-hawk appeared this afternoon, possibly taken another greenfinch. 2 doves appeared along with finches, tits & siskin's.

Net Park

Even another cold, grey & miserable day, decided to have another quick walk to Net Park & supermarket. Building work on NetPark Phase 3 is progressing fairly well. Still not sure why such a big fence surrounding the area.

Grey Day

It was extremely dark at 07:00 this morning even though mornings at present are supposed to be lighter. It has ended up been another grey, gloomy, drizzly and miserable day. Here, Teesside Park and even Hartlepool have grey skies. Role on Spring.

Garden Birds

Garden birds busy this morning. On one occasion we he visiting 15 goldfinches, 4 brambling, 1 greenfinch, 2 chaffinches & 3 doves. Maybe due to the cold air temperatures today.

Siskin Return

Another cold day. Wet too. No rain, so far, but ground still water logged. Our garden had the return of two siskin this morning, the first time since August 2023. Two days ago we also had a redpoll.

Frosty

A Saturday morning walk this morning instead of the mandatory exercise. Cold though with frost in lying on soaked ground. Ice too on house & car roofs.

Gloomy Park

Teesside Park shops visited this morning. The place looked as gloomy as the weather. At least it was not busy.

Wet again

today Never seen the paths and fields so wet. In fact every day seems the water logged even more. Just glad we are not in the situation like the south of England or parts of Scotland experiencing flooding.

Wet

Well the good weather that looked promising for 2024 yesterday changed dramatically today. Wet, cloudy, cold and miserable. Apart from first thing when 10 goldfinches appeared the only other visitor was guess - yes, the Hoover woodpigeon.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone. First day of 2024 and we are having a dry day. No rain. Even Sunny! Mind the ground, fields and paths to Hardwick are well and truly soaked. Hardwick Hotel & the Park this morning very busy, possibly due to NYE parties.
